Sexy Snippets #6 Press Play #6

Sexy Snippets are seven sentences, taken from a work in progress, or published book, brought to you every Sunday. Please check out the other snippets here.  Another snippet of Press Play:

Drummer girl for Airi Moon, Play Baptiste is living her dream, loving life and her hot affair with ER Doctor Preston Stevens. Though they have a long standing no-strings, no-complications arrangement, Play can’t help thinking of what her life would be like if she put down roots with Press.
Preston Stevens is a man who could have any woman he wants, only it’s the bad girl drummer that ignites his libido and captures his heart. Their arrangement has worked out well for his chaotic schedule until the night Press is unable to  save the woman his best friend loves from a tragic car accident. In an instant, he is reminded that life is short and wants to grab hold of what he knows for sure: his love for Play.

I thought abut how dire his voicemail had sounded, the words “We need to talk” had burned a hole through my damn mind the whole evening. Who the hell liked hearing those words? I made quick haste to shower, changed into a
slinky black dress with capped sleeves and left my dark hair in a series of twists to tumble past
my shoulders.

I slid on my heels as I heard Rex, the band’s keyboardist, whistle “Someone’s
getting some tonight.”

I
twisted my lips at him, throwing a towel at his head. “Shut up!”
Kameko, the lead singer of Airi Moon, chuckled, “I think the doc is going to be very glad to see you.”
“Its
only been three months,” I replied, dryly. “he should be glad to see
me.”
“As
glad as you are to see him, no doubt.” Lulu grinned and wiggled her hips.
