#Book Hooks #4 – Press Play #1

Book Hooks is a weekly meme hosted by Marketing for Romance Writers as part of the MFRW Authors Blog. BookHooks gives authors a chance to hook readers every week with their works in progress or latest release. This week, I’m starting something new, Press Play, part of my Rock Me Baby Series and a work in progress. Check out the blurb below and let me know what you think of the characters as the story progresses.

Drummer girl for Airi Moon, Play Baptiste is living her dream, loving life and her hot affair with ER Doctor Preston Stevens. Though they have a long standing no-strings, no-complications arrangement, Play can’t help thinking of what her life would be like if she put down roots with Press.

Preston Stevens is a man who could have any woman he wants, only it’s the bad girl drummer that ignites his libido and captures his heart. Their arrangement has worked out well for his chaotic schedule until the night Press is unable to  save the woman his best friend loves from a tragic car accident. In an instant, he is reminded that life is short and wants to grab hold of what he knows for sure: his love for Play.

Orgasmic—that was the only word I could use to describe the exhilaration floating through the jammed pack club. The Dollhouse was rocking and the steady flow of twisting and gyrating bodies followed the wicked lyrics floating through the speaker system.  The energy was explosive and I fiend for it like an addict. I grinned, rapping my drumsticks against the ebony finished toms at the end of Take Me Over,  Airi Moon’s newest hit.  The crowd’s applause meshed with the adrenaline pulsating through me. This was my life and there was nothing I wanted more. Doctor Preston “Press” Stevens’ handsome face flashed before my eyes. Well, I stand corrected maybe there was someone I wanted more—I’ll start with one of his demanding kisses, those chocolate-brown bedroom eyes and a backstroke that made my body shudder—the last time I’d felt his touch had been three months ago. Too damn long.

Stay tuned for more next week!
